** Treasurer’s report. We have $27k and some change in the bank. Mark went over the budget and what we have spent to date. Talked about what projects are going to need the majority of the $$’s going forward: Pump repair on pond, landscape on 47th, and pond cleanup.
Also, need to start working on 2002 budget. Landscape committee needs to plan out annual maintenance items that need to be included in the budget. Other new items also need to listed and submitted to Mark. Need all these items listed before proposal to increase dues goes forward, and also to validate funds availability for this year.
** Landscape Committee
Looking at switching maintenance companies. Will see how H2O does with pond cleanup and maybe hire them for regular maintenance contract.
47th Improvements. We have two proposals for the cleanup and landscape along 47th. Alan H. discussed both proposals and the drawbacks/benefits of both. Board agreed to move forward with the proposal from Family Landscaping and start immediately.
** Pond pump repair. John Junk discussed effort to replace pump and methods to keep pump vault clean going forward. One idea is to have whoever pumps the small pond during the annual maintenance, pay them to clean out the pump vault as well.
** House on Hoyt. Tried to communicate to homeowner that they do not have to pay dues, but they do have to follow the covenants. Will wait to here back if owner accepts.
** Drainage on 329th. Rich discussed a meeting that was held on 7/15. They reached a conclusion that all options have been pursued, and are now working to repair it themselves. City will assist with dye test to pinpoint all households that should help pay for the repairs. Rich will move forward with this activity.
** Tree height covenant. Deborah Dustman has reviewed covenant revision with lawyers and other homeowners associations. This will now be routed to board members for review and recommendation on whether to move forward with a vote by the association.
** Burnt House on 47th. They still have not applied to a permit. They still maintain that everything will be done by Christmas….
** Newsletter. Need articles and owners. Some suggestions: Thank you to folks who have volunteered; tree height covenants; vandalism; rats; landscape report; acc report; treasurer report; Christmas party; raising the dues; entry way pond (Rick, fountains, flowers; marks work), etc.
** Block watch. Recent incidents have led to a desire to implement a block watch program. Mark will look into this further to see if there is interest.
** Weekend Security Patrol. Terri will investigate the cost of having weekend evening security patrols.
