Attendees: John Junk (Landscape Committee, and many special projects) Peter Anderson (Landscape Architect) Teri Johnson (Treasurer) Jeff Kurle (President) Patrick Robinson (Board member) Doug Iverson (ACC Lead) Rick Dennison (Board Member) Mike Sullivan (Board Member and Landscape Committee Lead)
** Pond Landscaping Architect:
Peter Anderson from "Imago de Lineo" Architecture and Landscaping firm presented a series of conceptual drawings with many ideas for upgrading the landscaping in the pond areas of our entry way. The drawings sparked much discussion, and many ideas flew around about ways to upgrade the ponds. Peter had pictures of other projects that his firm had accomplished, and the work seemed impressive.
The group settled on two possible options:
1. Modify the ponds with new rock walls, landscaping, walkways, and benches to create a park area that would encourage people to enter and walk through the areas, and use the ponds areas as a park area.
2. Modify the pond areas in much the same way, minus the walkways and benches making the pond areas nicer to look at, but not encourage people to go into them.
These two options will be discussed with interested homeowners at a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 13th, hopefully at Green Gables school. Time and Location will be announced in a mailing to all neighbors. The options will also be discussed at the next monthly meeting, February 5th at Jeff Kurle's house.
** Landscape Committee:
Mike Sullivan got bids for pruning the trees in the entry way. The bids are ~$75 per tree for a total of $1500 for all of the trees. Options for getting this same price for homewners with the same trees were discussed.
** Architecture Control Committee:
The burned house that is being rebuilt put a deck into their back yard that was not approved by the ACC. They built the deck much higher than the previous deck, and the neighbor next door has complained that it takes away much of their privacy since the deck is now higher than the fence. A letter will be sent to the family of the house, reminding them that projects need to be approved by the ACC, and that they need to work with their neighbor to settle the issue, possibly by adding trees to re-establish the privacy lost by elevating the deck by screening the view between the two properties.
** Hoyt Road House:
This issue is Closed! (Good job Teri!!) The homowners have agreed to our original offer of obeying our covenants, but not paying dues. We had attempted to get Tucci to pay the lawyer fees, but this did not pan out. End result: Teri got the Covenants changed back to what they originally were before Tucci (illegally) had them updated. The family on Hoyt doesn't have to pay dues, and the HOA retains the ability to enforce the covenants.
New Business:
Security and Safety Committee: Brian Westburg wants to be the lead for this new Committee.
Teri requested that the Association get a small storage unit to store the
(many) boxes of past records, the Holiday Light signs, etc.
